Graduating
from Hislop College, Nagpur, in 2005, I had no initial plans to pursue an MBA.
However, my journey since then has been filled with diverse experiences across
both the industry and educational sectors, shaping me into a well-rounded
professional. I hold a Ph.D. in Commerce (Business Management &
Administration), an MBA, M.Com, M.A. in Indian Music, and an LLB. My academic
and professional trajectory has been a blend of continuous learning, dynamic
career shifts, and deep-rooted passions.
Early
Foundations and Educational Pursuits:
My
foundational years at St. Ursula Girls High School, Nagpur, were a mix of
academic rigor and extracurricular exploration. I was actively involved in
writing, sports, and music, where I participated in numerous competitions.
These formative experiences, coupled with the discipline instilled through
classical music practice and ensemble rehearsals, have played a crucial role in
shaping my leadership skills and public speaking abilities.
Corporate
and Academic Experience:
I
began my professional journey with Kotak Mahindra Bank in their Wealth
Management Department. This role exposed me to a diverse range of
industrialists and business leaders, significantly enhancing my communication
skills and ability to collaborate within large teams. The experience also
instilled in me a profound understanding of corporate dynamics, which later
inspired my transition to academia.
My
passion for teaching led me to pursue a career in education, despite lucrative
offers from the corporate sector. I found joy in sharing knowledge and learning
from others, which spurred my decision to join the Priyadarshini Group of
Institutions in Nagpur. Here, I was actively engaged in fostering relationships
among students, staff, and industry professionals. My tenure with the Raisoni (Education, Foundation) further honed my decision-making and administrative skills,
preparing me for leadership roles in management.
Leadership
in Academic and Cultural Initiatives:
My
role as a leader in academia extended to organizing and overseeing major
cultural and educational initiatives. LAter the interest in literature inspired to proceed for the major roles, where I have been instrumental to formulate and execute the Literature festival for Nagpur. As the Director of the Orange City
Literature Festival (www.oclfnagpur.com) since its inception in 2019, I have successfully
transformed the event into a premier platform that celebrates literature and
culture, attracting renowned authors, poets, and thought leaders from across
the country. The festival is now a landmark event in Nagpur's cultural
calendar, promoting a love for reading and intellectual engagement within the
community.
In addition to this, I have been actively involved in the sec 8 company SGR Knowledge Foundation (www.sgrkf.com), apart from various social initiatives, have designed a series of talks to provide enriching learning experiences through lectures, workshops, and seminars conducted by experts from various fields. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, offering students and professionals unique opportunities for growth and development.
Furthermore,
I have played a crucial role in planning and executing various initiatives for the G H
Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation (www.ghrscf.com), fostering a spirit of sportsmanship
and cultural appreciation among students. Through this foundation, we have
organized numerous sports tournaments, cultural fests like classical conclave, and talent showcases such as G H Raisoni Karandak (https://ghraisonikarandak.com) that encourage students to excel beyond academics and develop a holistic
personality.
TEDx Licensee Role:
As a TEDx licensee (https://www.ted.com/profiles/38871414), I am dedicated to curating and organizing impactful TEDx events that provide a platform for sharing innovative ideas, inspiring stories, and transformative insights. My goal is to bring together diverse voices and perspectives to foster meaningful conversations and collaborations that drive positive change in the community and beyond. By showcasing thought leaders and experts, I aim to spark curiosity, encourage new ways of thinking, and empower attendees to take action on resonant ideas.
Interests
and Community Engagement:
My
interest in human interactions and history was further deepened under the
mentorship of Shrimant Babasaheb Purandare, who encouraged me to explore our
rich historical heritage. This passion for history naturally extended to social
service, leading to my involvement with various NGOs and community initiatives.
Writing
and Creative Expression:
Alongside
my professional endeavors, I have a strong inclination towards writing. I have
contributed articles to "The Hitavada" and maintained a blog titled
"thoughtoutway." I also wrote a column, “Payakhalachya Matikadun,” in
the Marathi newspaper "Loksatta," where I authored approximately 85
articles over one and a half years. Later, I penned the column "Ranguni
Rangat Sarya" for "Tarun Bharat." These writing pursuits allow
me to continually shape and refine my thoughts, engaging with readers on
various topics.
Looking
Ahead:
As I
continue my journey as an academician and administrator, I remain committed to
lifelong learning, embracing new challenges, and fostering environments that
encourage growth and innovation. My journey is ongoing, with a consistent focus
on leading with integrity, empathy, and a passion for education.
